PPL(A) Theory
The theoretical course for the Private Pilot Licence is comprehensive. It covers all the essential aspects to provide a solid foundation for both the exam and practical training. You can study online on a part-time or full-time basis alongside your other commitments.
The PPL theory course consists of 85,5 hours online within the framework of distance learning. 14,5 hours of online ground school. You are required to complete progress tests. We will provide you with tests and exams to take at home, so that you are fully prepared for the official exam.
Once the requirements have been met, our training organization will prepare an official recommendation to begin with the theoretical examination process.

What are the pre-requirements?
- An applicant for a PPL shall be at least 17 years of age.
- Able to obtain EASA Medical Class II or Class I certificate (Certificate is required by the date of your first flight training.)
- English ICAO Level 4. (Required by the date of your first solo flight.)
What subjects do you need to learn?
The course is designed to help you understand through structured lessons covering each of the 9 PPL subjects. The exam-style progress tests aim to assess your knowledge which is mandatory for a future airline pilot, these are:
- Air law
- Aircraft general knowledge
- Flight planning & performance
- Human performance & limitations
- Meteorology
- Navigation
- Operational procedures
- Principles of flight
- Communications
Theory exam
Candidates must complete all 9 subjects in one day, which is expected to take 3 hours.
If the result in a subject is below 75%, it is possible to retake the specific subject(s) during the 18 month period with a total of 4 possible attempts.
